ClimbFit - Fitness through Climbing
Looking for a great fitness alternative for your students? Look no further. ClimbFit is it!
Besides being an exciting form of recreation, climbing is a great way for anyone to start achieving their fitness goals (see the large number of climbers and boulderers on American Ninja Warrior as an example). VIRG's ClimbFit program has been designed to show students how bouldering can be used as a means of power and endurance training.
With many schools adding fitness classes or fitness components to current phys-ed programs, the ClimbFit program is a great way to show the diversity of training options for students and to have fun doing it!
Cost:$18.75 +gst per participant. This includes all required gear.
*minimum charge of $150.
Times:This program is run as two 1.5 hour sessions and does not include use of the rope systems.
ClimbFit sessions must be pre-booked and can be scheduled weekdays until 5pm. Availability may be limited due to previously booked groups or other events. Please call (780) 496-9390 for more information on possible dates and times.
The maximum is 45 participants (depending upon the time).
Due to the content of this program, it is available to Junior & Senior High students. All participants under the age of 18 need a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. The appropriate waiver will be sent out during registration.
Participants are suggested to wear comfortable clothing that they can move around in. Layers are also a great idea. Everyone must wear socks in the rental shoes.
